You might be finding it hard to identify a local provider, as Swindon has no professional or full time male escorts. I am very happy to travel from home , or make an arrangement for when you are local to me. I am available in neighboring areas such as Chippenham, Malmesbury, Faringdon, Melksham and Marlborough. This will be for rates similar to my Swindon rates, including travel: Long-distance travel to Swindon and other areas is quite normal for me, as I provide a service that is quite different to the norm and not available locally. If you have a more parochial attitude to hiring a gay escort in Swindon, please have a look for any adverts posted below. While Swindon is not my home area, I put the level of demand for my services here down to a lack of professional male escorts. When I looked at the more popular ad sites I found very few escorts in the Swindon area — most prefer to work in London or other cities. There are also problems with hiring gay escorts from other areas taxis, one off charges and drug use. Reliability and discretion are far from guaranteed with most providers.

Recent radiocarbon dating has found it to date from about BC. Legend has it that the Mound is the burial site of Merlin [5] and that the name of the town, Marlborough comes from Merlin’s Barrow. On John Speed ‘s map of Wiltshire , the town’s name is recorded as Marlinges boroe. The town’s motto is Ubi nunc sapientis ossa Merlini “Where now are the bones of wise Merlin”. More plausibly, the town’s name probably derives from the medieval term for chalky ground “marl” — thus “town on chalk”.

Further evidence of human occupation comes from the discovery in St Margaret’s Mead of the Marlborough Bucket, an Iron Age burial bucket made of fir wood with three iron hoops, a top bar and two handles; it also sports bronze bands decorated with human heads and mythical animals, and is now on display at the Wiltshire Museum in Devizes. In William the Conqueror assumed control of the Marlborough area and set about building a wooden motte and bailey castle , sited on the prehistoric mound.

This was completed in around Stone was used to strengthen the castle in around The first written record of Marlborough dates from the Domesday Book in The coins display the name of the town as Maerlebi or Maerleber.

It remained the administrative centre of Wiltshire until the 11th century, however. Wilton was of significant importance to the church, with the founding of Wilton Abbey in and a number of other establishments. In Alfred the Great fought and lost an important battle there against the Danish armies, leaving him in retreat for several years. Despite further attacks, Wilton remained a prosperous town, as recorded in the Domesday book.

The building of Salisbury Cathedral nearby, however, proved Wilton’s downfall, as the new site of Salisbury, with a new bridge over the River Avon , provided a convenient bypass around Wilton on the trade routes. By the 17th century, weaving had become a large trade, and the carpet industry began in , when two French weavers were brought in by the 9th Earl of Pembroke to teach the local people new skills. Carpet weaving prospered until , when peace following the Napoleonic wars introduced European competition.

The Wilton Royal Carpet Factory was founded at the turn of the century, with the help of the then Lord Pembroke, to rescue the previous carpet factory that had fallen into financial difficulty. The carpet factory continued to operate until , when it closed temporarily after a takeover. The factory re-opened, although it was unable to retain the Wilton Royal prefix. Wilton had two railway stations.

The arrival of the railways led to increased prosperity.

According to an account written about , at one point in this meeting Dunstan called upon God to support his cause, at which point the floor collapsed killing most of his opponents, whilst Dunstan and his supporters were in the part that remained standing. This was claimed as a miracle by Dunstan’s supporters. The church in it was well endowed.
